As you are probably aware, this site suffers from a lack of updates. One of the reasons behind this is standing right above the text. I was lucky enough to be a part of the big team that has made the first video game to gross over a billion dollars. We spent a lot of hours, days, and nights working on the game and as a result my drawing table at my house collected a lot of dust. I'm going to try to update as much as I can this year, so stop by daily, you might see something you like.

Nothing new here to be honest, but a collection of drawings you have probably already seen. This is template is floating around on DA, thought I take a stab. Yeah I don't have those high school drawings since I was barely drawing on plain sheets of paper. From 2005 to 2006 I started to draw more because of my major but I really wasn't drawing that much outside of the classroom.

2006(summer)-2007 I began to sketch a lot more. Most of the images were barely complete. I drew mainly with a col-erase or a pen. I barely colored anything and made very little attempts to clean stuff up.

2007-2008 Copped a cintiq when I was at SDCC. Started to scan my stuff and colored it in photoshop. Due to work and meetings, I was constantly busy. Had very little time to draw so I just sketched on the paper work to look busy.

2008-2009 Drew with a col-erase, inked it, and then cleaned it up in photoshop. Most of the stuff I drew was school related. Whenever I had free time I would draw it and immediately post it on the interent without making any attempts to fix mistakes. After graduation I began to play around more with coloring, addings fx and filters. After talking to Phil and Jerome I switched my focus to honing my skills by flipping through anatomy books and working on my fundamentals. I drew less on paper and more on the cintiq. Most of the stuff I drew have no backgrounds and were basically flat since I was focusing more on getting the pose down.

Expect better drawings this year. Thanks for stopping by. Yeah this template reminded me of Guess Who for some reason so I threw that down instead of putting questions marks where the drawings should be.

Well here's a snippet of what I finished animating during my senior year. This animated short is 25.16 GB so to compress this thing for the internet is a pain because it distorts the aspect ratio and the overall quality of the product, since I'm not putting this on youtube. I originally did not want to post this online, but I changed my mind...for now. I cringe at the site of this, I want to redraw most of these scenes. The sound editor/fooley artist for this short was the amazing Lenny Menchiari and here's a sample of his amazing animation.

The supervising sound editor and other fooley artist was the talented JP De Guzman. As soon as I get a link to his site or what not I'll post it. I hope you guys out there like it.

Oh yeah there's a minor issue with a scene, I think it plays back a previous frame.

I saw it premiere at Comic-Con and I can't believe all of Ballroom 20 recited the Green Lantern oath before the movie. I don't know the words so I just sat there and looked like an idiot.

So to bring you up to speed on what's going on here, Optimus Prime just gave him the Matrix because Hot Rod inadvertently caused his death and now there needs to be a new Auto-bot leader so Hasbro can sell more toys.

Just 3 scenes left to animate and this will be done. As soon as my friend finishes up putting some sound effects on the scenes, I'll post a snippet on this blog.

So you guys out there can get an idea of what I've been working on since August, I have posted a little snippet of my senior thesis animatic. This whole thesis is an experimental project made so I can finally put something in my portfolio and to take everything I've learned and watched and execute it the best way I can.

I bet you can recognize where the temp music is from, but I will say I'm in negotiations with Taiko drum team on campus to provide the score because after hearing them play I was like OHHH Shit I need that to amp up the film. The only problem is going to be recording them without breaking a few microphones.

In any case the backgrounds are temporary and for one of the sequences the BG used is just there to give me an idea of composition and to practice a cam shake. A lot of my friends have been giving me shit for this animatic, but this is how I do animatics. I have been giving myself a lot of shit for doing a sword fight, I love hand to hand and I have way more fun boarding hand to hand, so I have no idea why the hell I decided to throw in swords.

KABLAM here's the colored version. This design has some minor tweeks in it than the previous. What's interesting about her design is that some people kept mistaking her for a guy when looking at the storyboards for the thesis, but if your going to be running around wielding a sword, best believe your going to have some huge triceps and deltoids.

So yeah, this is image is another illustration from the draw off battles that Kalia and I have. The theme was Thanksgiving and I just wanted to draw two of my favorite cartoon characters. Another Color Test

Here's another color test for the projection color calibration. I might keep these colors for the colors and I might not. If you noticed the previous post you can get an idea of what kind of nonsense will be going on in this animated short, and yup it's a sword fight. Although I prefer hand to hand, I have no idea why I chose to do a sword duel. I hate them, well not really. I just don't like boarding them.

Mic check 1,2 1,2. We gotta do a color test for some calibrations for the screening. So I decided to slap on some color on one of the panning shots. You have to see David Reily's backgrounds. Go click on his link and ask him to post his backgrounds because there pretty amazing.Best believe I'm going to make those lines smoother, but for now I'm just going to leave it as is.

I kept trying to think of a better title for this piece, but that's all I got. If you got one feel free to leave a comment and feel free to leave comments on the other artwork. I did this for my print making class, there's so many errors that happened in the process and during the print, but luckily you can't see it. If I woulda known I was going to sit in on the Nuggets practicing yesterday, I would of done a print of Allen Iverson instead. Dah well, its Kobe who can complain.

The other image is from another drawing duel with Kalia and this theme is furries for Halloween and I did see some furries walking around.

Anyone who had a bootleg copy of Dragon Ball Z movie 9 know exactly who these characters are. At some point and time after the credits an episode of the anime appeared. Although the cartoon is not all that great, there's some cool stuff in there. The best thing about the whole series was the last episode when the main character and the main villain were like F-it and instead of shooting fire at each other they just duked it out the old fashion way.
